As well as dealing with the Estates of Deceased persons, our Probate Department also deals with the following matters:-
| Will preparation. This includes looking at each individuals financial circumstances and giving to each client such Inheritance Tax Planning advice as is needed to suit their individual circumstances | |
| The preparation of Enduring Powers of Attorney so as to enable people to appoint either members of their family or Professional persons to handle their financial affairs in the event of them becoming too physically weak to sign cheques etc, or becoming mentally incapable of handling their financial affairs. | |
| The making of applications to the Court of Protection for persons who have become mentally incapable of managing their affairs for a Receiver to be appointed. This would be in cases where the person in question did not, whilst capable, appoint Attorneys. | |
| Sometimes people enter into either Residential or Nursing Home accommodation and do not wish to have to worry about their finances. They may appoint our Senior Partner and the Legal Executive in charge of the Probate Department as their Attorneys, following which we then take over the management of that persons financial affairs. | |
| The Department also deals with Conveyancing matters connected to the administering of a deceased's Estate and any Conveyancing that is encountered when managing clients' financial affairs. | |
| Many people seek advice as to how best ensure that their assets can be passed onto their children during their lives or alternatively by their Wills and the Department again looks at each individual's financial circumstances at that time and advises accordingly. |
